What he built

Alexander built the trading infrastructure from scratch:

  • an ultra-low-latency Java trading system,
  • an order and execution management system (OEMS),
  • the strategy framework,
  • the deployment pipeline.

He also developed the firm's arbitrage trading strategies.

Hot-path latency: 120 microseconds at the 99.99th percentile. Processing time: about 130 microseconds at the 99.9th percentile.

How the engine works

The engine runs on Chronicle Services, and every exchange message moves through it in a fixed order:

  1. Exchange messages become normalized events.
  2. Shared price, book, balance and order trackers update.
  3. Subscribed strategies run against the updated state.
  4. The order manager reconciles desired quotes with known orders.
  5. Execution adapters send venue-specific requests.

The order manager records each new order before the request leaves the process, so the next pass never commits the same funds twice. Inside the Chronicle trading engine follows one order end to end.
